“After” Matters

Some people think they are perfect. Some people think they have to be perfect. All my life I have felt like I needed to do my best, but my best was not good enough. If questioned, “Is that the best you can do?” Which made me question myself. Maybe I could do this or that to make something better. From somewhere came the thought, there is always room for improvement. Thus the feelings of I’m never quite my best. Push for perfection.

I love the movie Meet the Robinson’s. It was the mistakes and failures that helped Cornelius “keep moving forward.”

Jesus told his disciples that one of them would betray him. They could not imagine any of them doing that. How mad they would be at that one. Judas betrayed Him, Peter denied Him, but when it came down to it they all left him when they got scared. What came after the betrayal, denial, abandonment?

When mistakes or failures happen everyone notices, or so it seems. Recovery from failure matters. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and take the next step forward. Every step forward takes you away from the failure and  toward future opportunities.

I’m Random. I may not match things up that make sense, but don’t let your past or past mistakes define you or stop you from a brighter future. One step at a time. Forward. 💓
