“When I see something unusual, I’m not content just to look at it. I must capture it.”-Beatrix Potter
I don’t know if anyone else feels like I do, but when I see something I think is beautiful I want to draw it. Or a song that speaks to me, I want to sing it. I’m not content to just enjoy it, I want to reproduce it. However I am not able to do this satisfactorily. I do not have a natural talent for music or drawing, so I am not sure I could call myself a frustrated artist, but definitely frustrated.
The great creator made us in His image. He made us with a desire to create. Even though it may not be to the degree of beauty that we ourselves or anyone else likes, I like to believe that God looks at our attempts to create as we look at the creations of our children.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
I’ve heard it said man can not create beauty like God has created beautiful things. And we are not to think more highly of ourselves than we should.
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Sometimes I think we are too hard on God’s creation. It is like people say, “Yeah, that’s nice but your dad can do better.” While God, our heavenly father, creator, is telling us, “I love it! Keep creating. That’s beautiful.”
God’s amazingly awesome! And we are His children.
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Sorry to be so sappy, but when I truly feel how much God loves me and accepts me, I cry. When I realize I don’t have to win or be perfect, he loves me when I just try, even if I fail completely.
